Jerry Colangelo, general manager of the Phoenix Suns, said the team has decided not to offer a contract to free-agent guard Derek Smith.
Smith, a four-year pro out of Louisville who has played out his option with the Clippers, was given a series of physical examinations by Sun physicians here two weeks ago.
The 6-7 Smith missed most of last season after tearing ligaments in his left knee and battling mononucleosis.
