Fleetwood Tops Registration for Factory Housing

Fleetwood Enterprises’ Housing Group, based in Riverside, topped the nation for the third consecutive year in new manufactured home registrations last year, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., a Grand Rapids Mich.-based research concern.
The firm achieved a 14.6% market share in 1985, with 32,941 out of the year’s total 226,282 registrations. The second and third place firms were Champion Home Builders and Redman Homes, with 13,398 and 13,278 registrations, respectively.
Fleetwood ranked first in registrations in 15 states: California, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and West Virginia.
