Eastern Airlines’ unions say they will fight Lorenzo.

Leaders of Eastern Airlines’ three major unions joined hands Monday for a last-ditch drive to block the takeover by Texas Air Corp. and Chairman Frank Lorenzo, known for his union-busting tactics. “The Texas Air merger is not completed. It is not a done deal,” said Larry Schulte, head of the Air Line Pilots Assn. The unions, representing a combined 25,000 of Eastern’s 40,000 employees, are pressing for a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation and are drumming up support in Congress.
