Scores of irate farmers dumped more than 80,000 pounds of milk in Derby, Vt., in the largest such protest yet against federal agricultural policies. “These people are beginning to realize that their milk is almost worthless these days,” said Susan Judd, a protest organizer. Farmers say that shrinking federal milk price supports and increasing costs are making it impossible to stay in business.
