Buckingham Palace a Disappointment, Tourists Decide

LONDON — Buckingham Palace, the London residence of Queen Elizabeth II, is the most disappointing tourist attraction in the British capital, according to a survey released Monday by an architectural firm.
London Bridge and 10 Downing St.--home of the prime minister--were only slightly more popular than the palace, said Philip Moloney, spokesman for the firm of Scott, Brownrigg and Turner.
Respondents to the survey, mainly tourists, considered the houses of Parliament the most beautiful, followed by Tower Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Westminster Abbey, London’s Post Office Tower and the Tower of London were deemed the most exciting, Moloney said.
