Fire Halts N.Y. Stock Trading

NEW YORK — The New York Stock Exchange halted trading for almost an hour this afternoon when smoke from a fire in an upstairs office spread to the trading floor, forcing traders to evacuate.
The Fire Department reported that one person suffered burns and was taken to a hospital. The fire broke out in an administrative office on the fifth floor of the exchange building at 11 Wall Street. Trading was halted at 1:44 p.m. EDT and resumed at about 2:40 p.m.
