The Seattle SuperSonics suspended holdout center Alton Lister and announced that the 7-footer will be fined $250 for each missed practice, $500 for every missed exhibition game and 1/82nd of his salary for any regular-season game he misses.
Team President Bob Whitsitt also said the SuperSonics, who acquired Lister and two draft choices from the Milwaukee Bucks for All-Star center Jack Sikma, are looking for another starting center.
Lister announced the night before the SuperSonics opened training camp that he wanted a new contract and would not report.
