USD, Santa Barbara Both Try to End Losing Streaks Today

SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego’s football team and UC Santa Barbara will be looking to end losing streaks when they play today at 1:30.
USD, which lost the last two weeks after winning three of its first four games, is coming off a 49-19 loss at Azusa Pacific.
USD and Santa Barbara have played twice, with USD winning both. UCSB fielded a club team both years.
The Gauchos, in their first year in Division III, are 2-4. Quarterback Paul Wright has completed 42.9% of his passes, averaging 184 yards a game. His top receiver, Steve Marks, has averaged 17.6 yards per catch.
Torero quarterback Pat Dixon, who passed for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns last week, has averaged 192 yards a game passing. Receiver Jeff Mansukhani, averaging 17.4 yards a catch, has caught at least one touchdown pass in each of his last six games. Running back Virgil Enriquez rushed for 110 yards last week including a 59-yard run for a touchdown.
