“My Name Is Barbra.” “Color Me Barbra.” CBS/Fox. $29.98 each. In 1965 “My Name,” her first TV special, presented Barbra Streisand at her best. Divided into three “acts,” the black-and-white hour sported brilliant sets, superb lighting and knockout versions of 22 songs; the third act, in which she combined incredible technique and raw feeling, is one of the greatest cabaret-style performances ever captured. By the time of “Color,” the singer’s second special, the intimate feeling already had been largely replaced by a glossy, mannered confidence. The Philadelphia Art Museum-set first section is clever but the awkward circus sequence now leaves you just feeling sorry for the nervous animals. Also, there’s more lip-synching in “Color,” to its detriment. Streisand filmed new, short, informative introductions for each tape. Reproduction and hi-fi sound are excellent in both.
