WASHINGTON — President Reagan on Friday signed legislation strengthening federal law against child pornography.
The measure amends a section of law that prohibits the interstate transportation of children to engage in sexual activity for commercial purposes.
The new law extends this ban to the production of child pornography for private use, in addition to commercial purposes.
In addition, it bans advertising of child pornography and advertisements that solicit adults or offer children to participate in making the material.
