L.A. Prison on January Agenda for Legislature

Senate President Pro Tem David A. Roberti (D-Los Angeles) said Friday that the unresolved issue over building a state prison in Los Angeles County should be dealt with in January when the new Legislature convenes.
The downtown Los Angeles prison proposal favored by Gov. George Deukmejian got tangled up in election year politics when key Senate Democrats refused to support it. Roberti said he intends to work with supporters of the project between now and January.
