The median price for homes in north Orange County is now $163,499, or 20.9% higher than last year, according to the 1986 second-quarter report of the Residential Housing Survey, published by Roulac & Co.
The median price for detached homes is $201,951.
Total sales for the three-month period were 554 homes, a decrease of 46% from the same period last year. According to the survey, this is due to a decrease in the number of projects. This resulted, the survey said, from a lack of developable land and rising land prices that have forced builders of lower-priced homes to go elsewhere.
Four-bedroom homes, both attached and detached, represent 40% of all sales, and 85% of all detached home sales were more than 1,700 square feet.
