Soviets Allow Goldfarb Visit

MOSCOW — The daughter of David Goldfarb, a Soviet geneticist who emigrated last month after U.S. industrialist Armand Hammer intervened, said today she has received permission to visit her ailing father in New York.
Olga Goldfarb said she applied for an emergency visa to make a one-week visit to New York last Wednesday, the day surgeons removed part of her father’s cancerous left lung. Goldfarb’s family says he was denied an exit visa in 1984 after refusing to help the KGB frame journalist Nicholas Daniloff, who was detained for nearly a month in the Soviet Union.
