North County : Transportation Board Schedules Public Forum
- Share via
The county Transportation Commission has invited north county residents to share their ideas about solving traffic problems at a public forum from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Cal State Fullerton.
The forum, to be held in the University Center complex, is the fourth in a series being held throughout the county in the wake of the 1984 defeat of Proposition A, a countywide ballot measure that would have earmarked a 1-cent per dollar sales tax for highway and transit projects.
The forum will include a panel discussion on transportation featuring state Sen. John Seymour (R-Anaheim), Supervisor Bruce Nestande, La Habra City Manager Lee Risner, UC Irvine Prof. Charles Lave and moderator Barbara Stone of the Cal State Fullerton faculty.
James Roosevelt, former OCTC chairman, is scheduled to be the luncheon speaker.
Results of a new OCTC-commissioned study of public attitudes on transportation issues also will be discussed at Thursday’s conference.
