Hundreds of law enforcement officers hunting a man described as a “Rambo survivalist type” suspected in a series of robberies in North Carolina and Florida surrounded a rugged area in Edneyville, N. C., after a deputy was ambushed and shot in the face. “He’s not one that’s going to give up,” Edneyville police officer Gary Swain said of the suspect, believed to be Michael John Shornock, 21, of Swansboro, N. C. “Apparently, he lays in wait until an officer approaches, then he fires and runs a further distance and waits again,” said Capt. Tom Hatchett of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.
