Bowden Wins in Straight Sets

Suella Bowden of La Jolla defeated Joan Duckering of Portland, 6-0, 6-0, in the second round of the women’s 40 and over division of the USTA National Hardcourt Tennis Championships Wednesday at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.
Bowden is the tournament’s third-seeded player.
Third-round action is today and the tournament continues through Sunday.
