Thomas Ashworth, 51, of San Diego, was appointed Thursday to the San Diego County Superior Court by Gov. George Deukmejian.
He replaces Judge William L. Todd Jr., who was appointed in September to the 4th District Court of Appeal by the governor. Todd presided over former San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock’s felony trials last year.
Ashworth has been in private law practice with Mitchell, Ashworth, Keeney, Barry & Pike since 1968.
