FORT WORTH, Tex. — A federal grand jury has indicted a postal worker on charges he stole mailed donations to a television ministry.
The indictment against Elbert Taylor, who works at a postal facility in Farmers Branch, accuses him of stealing an unspecified amount of money intended for Word of Faith World Outreach Center at Farmers Branch.
Roseann Rueffer, a spokeswoman for Robert Tilton, pastor of the center and host of the nationally televised program “Success in Life,” said, “Initially we became aware of it when we noticed a severe drop-off in our mail.”
Taylor, a postal employee since 1979, faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine if convicted.
