Women Golfers Plan to Return to Toledo in July

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Jamie Farr LPGA Toledo tournament will arrive a month earlier next summer and be worth more money.
The tournament will be played July 2-5 and it will feature two pro-am events, Director Judd Silverman said.
Prize money was increased by $50,000 to $225,000, placing it in line with other women’s golf events, he said.
The tournament reised $28,860 in August of 1985, the last year it was played.
The event has been held twice, but was removed from the tour schedule last summer to prevent a conflict with the PGA Championship in Toledo.
A special pro-am event for women only will be held June 29 and a regular pro-am will be held July 1, which coincides with Farr’s birthday.
