Cypress Places 4th in State Wrestling

Cypress College placed fourth, Rancho Santiago finished 12th, and Golden West placed 15th Saturday night in the California Community College state wrestling championships at Bakersfield College.
Lassen College won the meet with 125 points. Cypress, led by state heavyweight champion Bill Flores, had 62, Rancho Santiago, led by 134-pound division champion Arnold Alpert, had 27 points, and Golden West, led by 150-pound division champion Paul Herrera, had 20 points.
Cypress’ Bill Weatherill (158 pounds) and Joey Gillis (167 pounds) each finished second in their weight classes.
