White Sox Farm Team to Return to Florida

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The city’s Class A professional baseball franchise has been reassigned to Florida for the 1987 season.
The Chicago White Sox farm team will return to South Bend from Daytona Beach for the 1988 season, mayoral assistant David Roos said.
The city is building a publicly financed stadium for the team, but construction schedules make a 1987 season impossible, officials say. The team played the 1986 season in Appleton, Wis.
