‘Trafficking in Chaos’

This is in reference to the preposterous traffic condition on Ventura Boulevard in Encino in the morning and evening. The numerous high-rise office buildings pour out their tenants at 5 p.m. causing a horrendous traffic jam. As there are no through-streets either north or south of Ventura Boulevard that are parallel, the traffic is confined to the boulevard.
While the situation now is intolerable, it can only get worse when the numerous high rise office buildings now under construction are filled.
There appears to be no solution to the problem. However, I have a suggestion that is worth consideration.
Recently a park-and-ride parking lot was built on Hayvenhurst Avenue next to the freeway. The workers in the high-rise office buildings from Sepulveda to Balboa could park here and ride shuttle buses to work and back to their cars at 5. The cost of the parking and bus would be no more than the charge in the office building garages.
In the event the parking lot is not adequate, another one could be built across the street on about 10 acres that is also owned by the federal government.
