The State - News from Dec. 15, 1986

A San Francisco man who posed as a state fish and game warden for three months said he “inspected” more than 200 fishermen, boats, restaurants and stores before being arrested on suspicion of illegally carrying two loaded handguns and a billy club. Brian A. Young, 31, is free on $1,000 bail while awaiting arraignment Jan. 6 in San Mateo Municipal Court, where authorities said they may also file charges of impersonating an officer. Young said “boredom and drugs” were responsible for his decision to begin the deception. Young said he always loved fish and wanted to be a game warden for years, having worked briefly as a warden’s aide in 1980 but being rejected as a reserve warden because he lied about his driving record on his job application.
