A man sought in the slaying of a woman whose wrapped body parts were found in a freezer and dumpster in the San Bernardino suburb of Grand Terrace was arrested Saturday in Chico.
James David Evans, 42, was stopped by police who recognized the suspect’s car as one being hunted in connection with the death of Mary Ann Evans, who, police reported, had been living with Evans and may have been married to him.
The victim’s body parts were found in a freezer in the house and in a dumpster elsewhere after a friend expressed concern about her safety. The victim had been stabbed several times, police said.
