Rosemead : New School Election Dates
The Garvey School District board of education has approved a proposal to consolidate school board elections with the general elections held in November of even-numbered years.
The next board election would be in 1988 instead of November, 1987, extending present board members’ terms by one year.
The Legislature passed a law earlier this year authorizing consolidation of the elections. The proposal must be approved by the county Board of Supervisors.
The district serves 7,500 students in 11 elementary and two intermediate schools in Rosemead, San Gabriel and Monterey Park.
