Strong thunderstorms moved onto the Florida peninsula with locally heavy rain and strong, gusty wind. Two tornadoes were reported to have touched down near Bonita Springs, Fla., plus one at Lake Harbor, Fla., but no damage or injuries were reported, the National Weather Service said. Wheat Ridge, Colo., a suburb of Denver, had a record high of 66 degrees, but in the state’s western mountains, at an elevation of 7,700 feet, Gunnison had the lowest temperature in the 48 contiguous states at 8 degrees below zero.
