Sound-track maestro Giorgio Moroder (“Flashdance,” “Midnight Express” and, lest we forget, “Metropolis”) is back in business, writing and co-producing songs for “Over the Top,” the upcoming Sly Stallone arm-wrestling saga.
The album (with lyrics by Tom Whitlock) is due Feb. 9 on Columbia Records, with, as usual, a host of big names, like. . . .
Kenny (Mr. Sound Track) Loggins, who’s doing a ballad called “Meet Me Halfway” . . . Eddie Money (“I Will Be Strong”) . . . Asia (“Gypsy Soul”) . . . and Sammy Hagar, who’s doing “Winner Takes It All,” with bandmate Eddie Van Halen moonlighting on bass.
And as coincidence would have it, the disc also features Frank Stallone, who’ll croon a new song called “Bad Nite(.”
