There Aren’t Any Plays, Only Ploys in the NFL Players’ ‘Game Plan ‘87’

In its “Game Plan ‘87,” a 40-page booklet designed to familiarize National Football League players with issues and tactics in the collective bargaining negotiations, the NFL Players Assn. lists eight issues it has set a priority on pursuing.
They are:
--Free agency.
--Guaranteed contracts.
--Improvements in the pension plan.
--Protection for player representatives and union officers from management harassment and discrimination, or discharge.
--Improvement of the existing chemical dependency prevention program.
--Faster, more effective grievance arbitration.
--Improvements in other benefits and player rights.
--Shorter terms for the collective bargaining agreement.
