Southern California College’s men’s basketball team nearly wasted a 15-point halftime lead before defeating Fresno Pacific, 92-89, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game at Fresno Saturday night.
The Vanguards played without two starters in the second half. Guard Jeff Stephens sat out with the flu and center Rob Lucas was struck in the eye.
SCC nearly lost all of its 47-32 halftime advantage, but Jon Haar’s 21 points second-half points helped pull out the victory. Haar finished with 30 points.
SCC improved to 2-2 in conference and 13-6 overall.
