A murder victim whose body was dumped on a Silver Lake district hillside has been identified by Los Angeles police as Michelle Ballinger, 15, of Hollywood.
Homicide Detective Roy Gobel said the body, wrapped in a plastic trash bag, was found by a construction worker in a brushy area just off the 2400 block of Ivanhoe Drive.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said the teen-ager died of suffocation.
Gobel said there are no suspects in the case although “we are pursuing some leads.” The detective said Miss Ballinger was last seen alive on March 18, and was reported missing three days later.
