Placentia : Driver Killed in Crash After Heart Attack

A 54-year-old Yorba Linda man died after he suffered a heart attack while driving and lost control of his car, police said.

Morton Traeger was driving northbound on Rose Drive at 1:40 p.m. Friday when his car went out of control and struck a light pole, a police spokeswoman said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Placentia Linda Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

“It is also believed (that) he was trying to make it to his doctor’s office when he had the heart attack,” said the spokeswoman, who declined to give her name. “He had been a heart patient for the past seven years.”
