Moon-Venus View Forms Rare Treat for Stargazers

LANSING, Mich. — The moon and the planet Venus crossed paths Saturday morning, producing a spectacle that an astronomer said was visible in much of the United States.
The event occurs no more often than twice in 10 years, and will not be visible to the naked eye again in this century, said Bob Victim, staff astronomer at Michigan State University’s Abrams Planetarium.
