Steve Overeem pitched a one-hitter through eight innings to lead Southern California College over Westmont, 7-5, in a Golden State Athletic Conference baseball game at Westmont.
Joe Holden went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Randy Fraiser went 2 for 4 and singled in the game-winner in the eighth for the Vanguards.
Overeem (2-4) struck out five and was relieved by Mike Lomeli in the ninth.
