Alvin Scott, a former forward for the Phoenix Suns, now says he was not supplied cocaine by Sun center James Edwards, contradicting a statement he had made earlier to local authorities.
Scott’s sworn statement that he received no cocaine from Edwards was included in a motion filed by his attorney, Larry Debus, asking that the case be dismissed or remanded to a Maricopa County grand jury for reconsideration.
Edwards is accused in grand-jury indictments of supplying or offering to supply cocaine or marijuana to Scott and Sun veteran guard Walter Davis, and of supplying or offering to supply marijuana to Sun rookie center William Bedford.
