Mexican Deficit Growing

MEXICO CITY — Deficit spending soared 61% in the first quarter over the same period in 1986 and now stands at 4.4 trillion pesos, or about $3.66 billion, a private study showed Saturday. Also, the country’s gross national product fell by 1% during the same period, said the report prepared by the Center for Economic Studies of the Private Sector.
