The Music Center’s board of governors voted unanimously Monday to accept the $50-million gift by Lillian B. Disney and the Lillian B. Disney Foundation to build a new concert hall for the Los Angeles Philharmonic across 1st Street from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. On Tuesday, as expected, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passed a motion by Supervisor Ed Edelman instructing county officials to work with Mrs. Disney’s attorney, the Music Center and others involved to “recommend appropriate action to the board to assure that Mrs. Disney’s generous donation results in an appropriate tribute” to all parties involved.
