Bowman Resigns as Western Coach

Dave Bowman, Western High School baseball coach for the past five years, has resigned to become an assistant at Cypress College under Scott Pickler. Bowman, who will continue to teach at Western, joins former Sonora Coach Gordon Blakely on the Chargers’ staff.

The Pioneers, who lost to Rio Mesa, 5-3, in last year’s Southern Section 3-A championship game, finished fifth in the Orange League this season with a 6-9 record (14-11-1 overall).
