Mayor Tom Bradley will lead a Los Angeles delegation on May 30 to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a meeting of the United States Olympic Committee’s site selection committee, which will recommend two cities to play host to the 1990 and 1991 U.S. Olympic festivals.
Other cities in contention are Washington, Detroit, Orlando, Fla., San Antonio and Minneapolis, which is considered the favorite for the 1990 festival.
After hearing presentations from representatives of the six cities, the committee will select two and then seek approval of the choices from the USOC’s executive board.
