Road to Honor Pereira: A stretch of road at UC Irvine will be renamed in honor of late architect and urban planner William L. Pereira, UCI officials said. Pereira designed the Transamerica Tower in San Francisco, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles International Airport and Newport Center. He also designed eight major buildings on the UCI campus. North Circle View Drive a major campus thoroughfare that passes by the administration building and library, and its connecting road, Verano Way, will be renamed Pereira Drive, university officials said. Pereira died in 1985.
