El Dorado Wins Toss, Chooses Valencia Field

El Dorado High School (22-4) won a coin flip to determine site selection and chose to play Lakewood (23-7) at Valencia High School Tuesday in a Southern Section 4-A baseball semifinal. The winner of the coin flip can choose any site other than its home field.
Esperanza (24-2), the No. 1 seed and defending 4-A champion, will play fourth-seeded Arcadia (21-5-1) at Cal State Los Angeles.
In Tuesday’s other Southern Section playoff games, which begin at 3:15 p.m.:
In the 3-A semifinals, Villa Park (19-10) will play Arlington (20-7) at Rancho Santiago College and Troy (20-6) will play John W. North (24-5) at Cal State Fullerton. In a 2-A semifinal, Capistrano Valley (25-3) will play Arroyo (18-5-1) at Cal Poly Pomona.
In softball playoffs Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.:
In the 4-A semifinals, Marina will play Cypress at Arnold Park (Cypress) and Ocean View faces Thousand Oaks at Borchard Park (Newbury Park). In the 3-A semifinals, Valencia will play Diamond Bar at Walnut High School and Sunny Hills faces Charter Oak at Cal State Fullerton. In the 2-A semifinals, Woodbridge will play La Serna at La Mirada High School and Laguna Hills will play Corona at Norco High School.
