Suits against Sun-Maid Growers were dismissed.

Three suits filed by two groups of growers that sought damages from the Sun-Maid cooperative have been dismissed, court officials said. Fresno County Superior Court Judge James Thaxter dismissed the suits, ruling that when the growers filed the suits they were essentially suing themselves because they were members or former members of the cooperative. The suits sought damages and lost income the growers said resulted from Sun-Maid making multimillion-dollar overpayments to members between 1978 and 1985.
