Prosecutors in Phoenix, responding to a motion filed by one of the 12 people indicted in April on cocaine conspiracy counts, said they have found no evidence linking star player Walter Davis to drug use on the Phoenix Suns.
The motion sought information on why Davis was granted immunity for his testimony before a grand jury.
“The state has no other evidence that it feels induced Mr. Davis to enter into his agreement with the state,” Deputy Maricopa County Attorney James Keppel said.
