SAN DIEGO — San Diego State has signed four basketball players--two junior college transfers and two 6-foot 10-inch freshmen--to national letters of intent, said Jim Brandenburg, first-year coach.
Ty Walker (6-4 guard from Garden City Community College in Ingalls, Kan.), Caldin Rogers (6-6 forward from Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls, Ia.), Mark Pollard (6-10 center from Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah), and Neil Steinly (6-10 center from Kofa High School in Yuma, Ariz.) will attend SDSU next season.
Walker, who appeared in 16 games at Kansas State as a freshman, averaged 18 points a game last season at Garden City and earned all-state honors. Rogers was a second team all-region selection at Ellsworth.
