Former Ocean View Pitcher Signs With Fullerton

Former Ocean View High School pitcher Jackie Oakley-Pittman signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Cal State Fullerton next season, Coach Judi Garman announced Tuesday.
Oakley-Pittman was one of the nation’s top prep pitchers in 1985, her junior season. She was 31-0 and had an earned-run average of 0.15 to lead Ocean View to the 1985 Southern Section 4-A title.
As a junior, Oakley was voted Southern Section 4-A Player of the Year, USA Today High School Female Athlete of the Year and The Times’ Female Athlete of the Year.
She was 11-4 as a senior but Ocean View failed to advance to the playoffs.
Oakley, who married Harry Pittman, didn’t play in college last year so she has four years of eligibility remaining.
