Fullerton : Cal State Fullerton Names Research Chief

Stuart A. Ross, consultant to the USC Sea Grant Program, will become director of faculty research and development at Cal State Fullerton Aug. 24, university President Jewel Plummer Cobb announced.
Before becoming the sea grant consultant, Ross was assistant director of the program in 1980-86 and was director of marine advisory services in 1979-86. The Sea Grant Program is a marine education and applied research operation that receives funds from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Ross’ other previous positions include political science instructor at Texas A&M;, program officer for the Salk Institute Council for Biology in Human Affairs, and assistant to the federal Commission on Marine Science, Engineering and Resources in Washington, D.C.
Ross earned his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley. He lives in Irvine.
