Soviets Critical of President’s Message

MOSCOW — A Soviet television news commentator said President Reagan’s challenge Friday to Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall was “taken right from the Cold War time arsenals.”
“The participation of the U.S. President in the demonstrative spectacle is to be regretted,” commentator Viktor Glazunov said on the Vremya news show, Tass said.
“Moreover Ronald Reagan made a speech in West Berlin, which by no means can be called a specimen of new thinking,” Glazunov said. “Unfriendly attacks on the U.S.S.R. were taken right from the Cold War period arsenals.”
