UNDERSIGHT

Movies of the Week columnist Michael Wilmington made a few ripping errors in the June 7 TV Times.
1--Billboarding “It Happened One Night” . . . “raffish reporter Clark Gable, with his undershirt and tough-guy smirk . . .” (No undershirt. That was the scene that drove the undershirt industry crazy.)
2--Wilmington did it again nutshelling “Butterfield 8” . . . “(Elizabeth) Taylor . . . shocked the ‘60s audience more than Gable’s 1934 sleeveless undershirt.”
In Hollywood, of all places, it would seem that if you are going to describe for others, you should be more careful.
