Valley Dodgers Sweep Ventura County Royals

The Valley Dodgers, led by Don Sparks and Steve Hosey, swept a doubleheader from the Ventura County Royals, 2-0 and 5-3, Saturday in a Golden State League opener at Oxnard College.
Sparks hit a double to drive in the game-winning run in the first game and had an RBI double to highlight a five-run third inning in the second. Hosey had four hits and an RBI for the day.
Pitcher Steve Dunn (2-0) won the opener, allowing four hits and three walks in six innings. Tim Quintanilla (1-0) won the second game.
