MILAN, Italy — A tourist who booked a double room in an Italian hotel was asked to pay an air-conditioning supplement for his wife “because two noses breathe more air than one,” a consumer organization said Friday.
The organization, Movimento Consumatori, cited the case among other ripoffs by hotels and restaurants to get tourists to pay more. Others included “tourist spaghetti” in one restaurant that was more expensive but no different from normal spaghetti.
The organization has published a guide to tourists’ rights.
