Strings Win First Match of the Season

The Los Angeles Strings, led by Anne White, won their first TeamTennis match of the season Friday night, defeating the Sacramento Capitals in overtime, 24-21, before 906 at the Forum.
White, who had a combined score of 17-9 for the night, defeated Pam Casale in women’s singles, 6-1, and teamed with Lisa Bonder to beat Casale and Mary Lou Piatek, 6-2, in women’s doubles.
In mixed doubles, Piatek and Robert Van’t Hof downed White and John Lloyd, 6-4, sending the match into overtime. But White and Lloyd won the first game of the overtime set to give the Strings their first win in five matches. Sacramento is 2-2.
